Reservation Contract:
MAKING A RESERVATION
Sun Valley Heli Ski requires 50% of trip cost as deposit at time of reservation with the remaining balance due 90 days prior to the skiing date. If reservation is made within 90 days prior to ski date, payment is due in full. A deposit as well as a signed tour participant contract is required to confirm your reservation. There are no exceptions. The tour participant contract is a written acknowledgement of SVHS’s run, refund and cancellation policies. Failure to pay final balance by the due date will result in the cancellation of your reservation and no refund will be given.

HELI-SKI RUN POLICY
The charge for exceeding the package runs is $95 per run per person. If we don’t achieve the guaranteed package runs, the refund is $80 per run per person.

FUEL SURCHARGE
Due to the volatile nature of the fuel market, it may be necessary to implement a fuel surcharge. We base the fuel surcharge on the Los Angeles Index for Kerosene-Type Jet Fuel Price that is reported by the US Department of Energy: Click for pdf file.
A Fuel Surcharge will be added for increases in the base fuel prices as of Dec. 31 of the previous year. A $0.53 for each run skied will be added for each percentage (%) increase.

CANCELLATION POLICY
In limited circumstances, as defined in the refund policy, money may be rolled forward and used in the following year. Any money rolled forward is non-refundable.

Current year reservations, which are not paid for with money rolled forward from a previous year: If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your reservation, Sun Valley Heli Ski requires written notice of cancellation via certified mail. If we receive cancellation notice more than six months prior to your skiing date, all monies on account will be refunded less a $300 cancellation fee per seat. If cancellation notice is received less than six months prior to ski date, the deposit is non-refundable. If cancellation notice is received less than 90 days prior to ski date, all monies on account are non-refundable. All money on account is good for the current season only. Any change to a reservation date, if available, will be subject to a $150 per person administrative charge.

REFUNDS
Heli-Ski Packages are based on run achievement. If you should achieve your run maximum prior to the end of your package week, you have the option of not flying. If you choose to do this, you must notify the reservation desk before the next fly day or you will be charged the extra runs skied by your group for that day. If you haven’t achieved your maximum vertical footage and you choose to miss any skiing for any reason, you will be charged the runs achieved by your group for that day.
No refunds are issued in part or in whole for unused days due to late arrival, early departure or any other reason. No refunds are issued for “down days”. No refunds are issued for missed skiing due to skiing ability, fitness, equipment failure, or personal choice. If a skier becomes injured, ill, or
requests to leave the field prematurely for any reason, no refund will be made. Additional costs resulting from an evacuation or early departure from the field will be charged to the guest. Monies on account from previous years are non-refundable. If Sun Valley Heli Ski is unable to deliver a reserved day of helicopter skiing due to the inability to meet minimum group requirements, snow conditions, or other cause subject to SVHS’s discretion, we will reschedule your week, or a refund will be given. Sun Valley Heli Ski reserves the right to cancel any ski week package or ski week at any time.
AS WITH HELI-SKIING ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT ANY HELI SKI WEEK COULD BE “SHUT OUT” DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS. IN THIS CASE, REFUNDS ARE BASED UPON THE ABOVE RUN POLICY. A RATE OF $80 PER
RUN WILL BE APPLIED TO THE GUARANTEED NUMBER OF RUNS IN YOUR PACKAGE (2 day heli skiing: 10 runs, 4 day heli skiing: 22 runs, 6 day heli skiing: 35 runs). THIS CONSTITUTES YOUR REFUND IN ITS ENTIRETY. IF YOU CHOOSE TO HOLD YOUR CREDIT ON ACCOUNT FOR FUTURE USE, AN EXTRA 10% WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR CREDIT.

INSURANCE
Sun Valley Heli Ski strongly recommends that all guests carry Trip Cancellation Insurance, Trip Interruption Insurance, Medical Insurance, and Emergency Evacuation Insurance. These insurance types safeguard you against unforeseen mishaps that can occur before or during your heli vacation with us. What Guests Need to Know:
All seats must be reconfirmed by 5:30 the night before or risk losing seats.

We can take three groups per day. We will sometimes take a fourth group if the area we are skiing is appropriate for it. This fourth “Stand-By” group will be notified in the morning whether or not they will be able to fly.

The extra run fee of $95 per person per run is applicable to all programs.

Discount groups must designate a group leader who will handle all reservations, paperwork, and other organizational issues.

All paperwork must be completed before skiing.

Ski boots must be delivered to Sun Valley Heli Ski the night before skiing if our skis are to be used the following day.

Food Provided:
Snacks, water and lunch are provided.

Guests do not need to (and should not) bring packs, etc. Extra clothing will be stored by the guide. We prefer guests use our avalanche beacons to ensure that they are fully operational.

Guests should be dressed warmly, in layers. Goggles are a must due to rotor wash. There is a single, remote outhouse at the helicopter staging area at Baker Creek, but nowhere else.

SMOKY MOUNTAIN LODGE RESERVATIONS:
50% deposit is due at time of reservation
Balance due 90 days prior to skiing date
Cancellations made more than 6 months prior to ski date receive full refund less $300 fee per seat
Cancellations made less than 90 days prior to ski date all monies on account are non-refundable
